Kotaku ran a story the other day and we here at the defense force must say cease and desist! Here is the letter we sent to Kotaku – the rest of the story and the true numbers after the break:
Dear Kotaku,
We at 360 Defense Force are concerned, shocked, and frankly appalled by your recent post on EA’s report and the way you spun their report to declare the Playstation 3 the top bread winner for EA. With these concerns we have put together some information and a graphic for you to inform the masses of your mistakes. Further mistakes will not be tolerated. Thank you - and good day!

In what may be seen as sad news Microsoft has announced that Bungie is becoming its own separate entity again. Going back to the independent roots from whence they came. This news could be horrible but 360 Defense force is not too worried, check out the official press release from Microsoft and then come back to us and find out more:

With an average ratio of 57.4% on gamerankings.com you would think that Lair would go down as the horrible video game release that it is. I mean sure the game is beautiful to look at but when you sit down and play it, it is just horrible, no other words could describe it. Alas, over in the land of the rising sun a very reputable ranking system over at Famitsu has given this train wreck a 33/40 or a 82.5% basically. It just goes to show that Japan is eager to scoop up any droppings that Playstation 3 and Sony corporation leave behind and to treat it as gold.

Over at GameDaily BIZ Cliffy B talks about a Gears of War movie and what it needs:
“I get a lot of forum posts where Gears fans tell us we need to cast this wrestler as Marcus. I don’t give a f**k if the guy’s buff or six foot five. What matters most is that this guy is charismatic and he can act and is somebody compelling that you want to watch on screen.”
“The fact that Gears is an M-rated franchise and involves people getting chainsawed in half, it’s got to be a pretty f***ing hardcore movie.”
“Partnering with New Line on the movie is like partnering with Microsoft on Gears. You know Microsoft knows how to get Halo out there and market it and help facilitate a blockbuster experience. New Line, having done Lord of the Rings, they know how to back a very risky but also a potentially very lucrative franchise and make sure it’s treated with the respect it deserves.”

Halo 3 continues to fly off the shelves! First the reports were then Halo 3 made $170 million in the first day, breaking records which was impressive enough. But now Bungie, Master Chief, XBox 360, and the whole gang have really out done themselves seeing that in one weeks time Halo 3 has made over $300 million dollars in sales! Again, this is just in the first week! It should be interesting to see just what this little masterpiece can do on the shelves in the first couple of months.

We got to give it to him, he certainly has a way of expressing himself; over at Zero Punctuation Halo 3 gets ripped a new one. Please know that I do not support the views of this although I do enjoy watching it for entertainment purposes, which after all, is what the guy I am sure is going for. You can’t blame a guy for voicing his views and opinions no matter how wrong they may be. So here is his review of Halo 3, also another fun one is his review of Bioshock which he mentions in the Halo 3 review. Watch these and then continuing reading to get the thoughts of 360 Defense Force.

Whats the best way to get people to keep buying UMD games and movies for that brand new PSP Slim/Lite? Design UMD cases that are designed to break and crap out!
At least thats what is being reported by Multimedia Recovery in a Youtube video they have posted. See it here.

Eurogamer is currently saying that “Sony Europe has categorically denied to Eurogamer that it has a press conference scheduled for next week.” Which is funny because GamePro Europe awhile ago announced that there would be. The rumor had been flying around like crazy on the internet over the last few days, and Sony just decided now to try to un-announce it.
